With the lineup completed by drummer Den Ferran, bassist Michael Proctor and whistle player Mairtin MacCormaic and after two well received demos they signed to Century Media to release their debut. The album shot to international recognition very quickly but none could have foretold it's importance for the metal scene in the long term. Having spawned hundreds of clones, the album is now a much sought after gem. Waylander went on to sign to Blackened Records (a division of Candlelight/PHD) for their sophomore album. In 2006 Midhir Records aquired the license to rerelease 'Reawakening Pride Once Lost' with added bonus tracks from the equally cult Waylander demos and new artwork. Eight years after its original release the album stands as a foundation stone, a masterpiece of originality in the folk metal genre.
